Bridging the Gap Between
Deaf and Hearing Communities
Lily the Love Frog, Inc., is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to raising Deaf awareness. Everywhere they go, Lily the Love Frog founders Camie and Tom meet people interested in learning sign language. “I want to tell you how uplifting it is to see so many people interested in communicating with many different types of people,” Camie says. Adds Tom, “The ability to communicate with one another is a vital skill that enables true understanding and appreciation.”
Founded in June 2003, LLF is already making great leaps toward bridging the gap between the deaf and hearing communities. To date, we have established a computer user's group for deaf adults, and a home-school venture where students are learning sign language and becoming aware of the richness and challenges of the deaf culture.
