Mrs. Bassford was a motivating factor in the realization of Lily the Love Frog, Inc. From the onset, Brenda supported and encouraged the idea of the organization. Lily the Love Frog, Inc. was formed in June 2003. We were unfortunate in losing a trusted friend, yet fortunate to have known such a caring person.

We are honored to establish this Memorial in Brenda's name. Each year a Hearing Child and a Deaf College Student shall benefit from The Brenda Bassford Memorial.

Ashley Ratliff will use her $300 scholarship to enhance her learning about deafness when she begins her college career at St. Petersburg College.

Peter J. Guptill is the first deaf recipient of the annual Brenda Bassford award. Peter is involved in many student activities at St. Petersburg College and will use his $300 scholarship to continue his education there in 2004-2005.
